About Neuberger Museum of Art
The Neuberger Museum of Art at SUNY Purchase in Harrison features exhibitions of modern, contemporary, and African art drawn from a collection of nearly 7,000 objects. Visitors explore masterpieces by artists including Edward Hopper, whose painting Barber Shop is the museum's largest work, alongside pieces by Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, and Helen Frankenthaler. The permanent collection also includes works by living artists such as Chakaia Booker and Judy Pfaff. Beyond these holdings, the museum presents critically acclaimed rotating exhibitions. Educational programming includes tours, lectures, and events designed for students, educators, artists, and art enthusiasts. The museum honors emerging talent through the Roy R. Neuberger Prize, continuing the founder's legacy since 1969 when Roy R. Neuberger donated 300 works to establish the institution.
