About The Frick Collection

The Frick Collection houses Old Master paintings, European sculpture, and decorative arts from the Renaissance through the late nineteenth century, displayed within one of New York City's last great Gilded Age mansions. Visitors explore galleries that preserve the intimate domestic atmosphere of the historic 1914 residence, where art appears without wall labels. The collection originated with industrialist Henry Clay Frick, who bequeathed his home and works to the public. The adjoining Frick Art Research Library, founded by his daughter Helen Clay Frick, serves as one of the world's top art history research centers and is open to students, scholars, and the public. A free Bloomberg Connects mobile guide helps visitors learn about the buildings, history, and works on view. The museum offers special exhibitions, educational programs, and Louis Vuitton First Fridays evening events. Children ages 10 and older are admitted.
