The Frick Collection houses Old Master paintings, European sculpture, and decorative arts from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century, displayed in one of New York City's last great Gilded Age mansions at 1 East 70th Street. Visitors explore galleries without wall labels, preserving the intimate domestic atmosphere of industrialist Henry Clay Frick's former home. The Frick Art Research Library, founded in 1920, serves as one of the world's top art history research centers. Westmoreland, the on-site café, serves upscale seasonal American fare, afternoon tea, and art-inspired cocktails overlooking the restored garden.
