Rye Nature Center is a 47-acre forest preserve where visitors explore more than two miles of marked trails through woodland terrain. The grounds open daily from sunrise to sunset and feature several distinct attractions: the Quarry, an old mining site where visitors can spot quartz, mica, and feldspar minerals along the Bunny and Ridgetop trails; the Overlook on the Deer Trail with benches overlooking the forest and Small Pond; and the Parsons' Estate Ruins documenting local history. A playground provides recreation for younger children. The center hosts weekend and public programs tailored to different ages, including seasonal activities like fall hikes with apple cider pressing, foraging workshops, and leaf-hunting competitions.
