About Teatown Lake Reservation

Teatown Lake Reservation is a nature preserve and environmental education center in Ossining, New York, where visitors hike 15 miles of scenic trails through 1,000 acres of protected land. The reservation features a two-acre island refuge called Wildflower Island, home to over 230 species of native wildflowers accessible by tour. Animal Ambassadors live at the facility, offering close encounters with wildlife. A nature store sells books and supplies for outdoor pursuits. The visitor center provides information and trail maps. Public programs and events run throughout the year, including guided school field trips with hands-on environmental education. Summer and school-break day camps offer natural science instruction for children. Hikers, birdwatchers, and nature photographers explore marked trails from dawn to dusk daily, observing resident wildlife and seasonal migrations while experiencing diverse habitats across the protected landscape.
