About LT Michael P. Murphy Navy Seal Museum

The LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum in West Sayville preserves the history and honors the sacrifices of Naval Special Warfare operators from World War II through current operations. Visitors move through seven exhibition halls that chronicle the evolution of the frogmen and Underwater Demolition teams of WWII and Korea, the birth of the SEALs in Vietnam, and modern conflicts including Operation Red Wings. The museum features a movie theater and a SEAL simulation ride that offer glimpses into the lives and experiences of these operators. An exhibition hall is dedicated solely to the SEAL Training program. The facility also serves as an education center with classroom space for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets, reflecting the belief that education empowers future generations. Throughout the museum, films, videos, and exhibits create personal connections to the ideals and values of the SEAL community. The museum sits on Long Island's south shore near the Long Island Maritime Museum.
