The house remains listed on the New York State Register of Historic Places and functions as a living museum centered on the Society's educational activities. The Daniel Hawkins House, constructed in 1810, is undergoing restoration to become an archival library and exhibition space. Both properties showcase the deep historical ties between Miller Place and Mount Sinai dating to the 1600s. The Society, founded in 1974 and expanded in 1982, welcomes community participation through tours, events, and volunteer opportunities. Located in Miller Place, the organization relies on donors and volunteers to maintain these cultural treasures for future generations.
