About Nature Discovery Center

The Nature Discovery Center preserves a 4-acre nature park in Bellaire where visitors explore Discovery Rooms filled with live animals, specimens, and exhibits. The center offers Nature Story Time on Wednesday afternoons featuring books on nature topics accompanied by live animals. Families can schedule birthday parties at pavilion areas with nature-themed programs including nature walks and interactions with rabbits. School groups participate in curriculum-based field trips called "Nature at Your Doorstep" that nurture young scientists through real-world investigations. Scout troops complete badge requirements through specialized programs designed for groups of five or more. The park includes picnic tables, pavilions available on a first-come basis, and outdoor restrooms. General admission to the Discovery Rooms and park is free. The Nature Discovery Center is located at 7112 Newcastle in Russ Pitman Park in Bellaire, Texas.

Hours: Park: Daily 5 a.m.–9:30 p.m.; Discovery Rooms: Tuesdays–Fridays 1 p.m.–5:30 p.m., Saturdays–Sundays 10 a.m.–3 p.m. (schoolyear); Saturdays–Sundays 10 a.m.–2 p.m. (summer)
