The Brenham Fire Museum displays rare antique fire engines and tells the story of the city's firefighting heritage. Visitors see the Silsby Fire Engine, a historic apparatus that operated using water from Brenham's underground cistern system, making the city the first in Texas to provide public water services for fire protection. The museum also features Samanthe, purchased in 1923 and one of only three remaining in the world, and Invader, acquired in 1950. Exhibits explain why Brenham experienced fires and interpret the city's historic public cisterns, designated a Texas Antiquities Landmark. General admission is free. The museum is open Fridays and Saturdays during published hours, and private tours can be arranged by calling ahead with at least one week's notice.
Admission is free. The venue says: “is free entry”
Hours: Fridays 11 am – 3 pm and Saturdays 11 am – 2 pm
