About Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History in Bryan preserves and interprets the natural and cultural heritage of the region through exhibits, educational programs, and special events. Visitors explore fossil displays, sculptures, antique farming and survey equipment, and a discovery room housing more than fifteen varieties of live animals alongside dozens of taxidermy mounts. The museum hosts tours, lectures, and classes for all ages. Educational offerings include Nature Camps during spring, winter, and summer breaks, birthday parties, and school field trips. Discovery Kits are available for teachers, homeschoolers, and scouts. Throughout the year, the museum presents rotating exhibits and special events such as summer nature camps, the Wish Upon a Butterfly celebration featuring monarch butterflies, the Buffalo Stampede race, and Boonville Days, a Texas history festival featuring frontier skills, chuck wagon cooking, arts, and music. The museum reaches approximately 50,000 children and adults annually with science programs and affiliated cultural organizations.
