About Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County invites visitors to explore four floors of exhibitions featuring fossils, minerals, and live animals. The Butterfly Pavilion lets guests walk among hundreds of butterflies in flight. Dinosaur Encounters presents large-scale puppets and multimedia storytelling about paleontology. The Orcas: Our Shared Future exhibition examines connections between orcas, people, and ocean ecosystems. Unearthed: Raw Beauty displays rare mineral specimens. The museum operates a giant-screen theater showing films including T. Rex 3D and Oceans 3D: Our Blue Planet. The NHM Insider Tour takes visitors behind the scenes to watch scientists prepare fossils and hear stories about the museum's iconic dinosaurs. Animals Alive features live animal presentations.
