About Go For Broke National Education Center

The Go For Broke National Education Center educates visitors about Japanese American World War II soldiers in Los Angeles's historic Little Tokyo district. The Defining Courage Exhibition is an interactive permanent exhibition exploring courage through stories of young Japanese Americans who served during the war. The Go For Broke Monument is a granite structure engraved with the names of more than 16,000 Japanese American men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Visitors can search an online Monument Name Locator database to find specific veterans listed on the monument. The center also presents traveling exhibitions, virtual resources including educational curricula, and annual events. A visit involves viewing exhibits, locating names in the database, and engaging with educational programs about Japanese American military history.
