About Japanese American National Museum

Japanese American National Museum features a Heart Mountain barrack and immersive galleries exploring Japanese American history and civil rights in Los Angeles. Visitors tour galleries examining World War II incarceration, community resilience, and contemporary issues of race and democracy through the core exhibition In the Future We Call Now. The Hirasaki National Resource Center provides interactive StoryFiles of concentration camp survivors and veterans alongside archival materials and artworks from the permanent collection of over 160,000 artifacts. The museum hosts lectures, film screenings, and family festivals throughout the year. Located in Little Tokyo near downtown Los Angeles, the museum charges admission with several ways to save: AAA members and Metro Tap Card holders each receive $2 off, and LA Perks Pass holders for convention attendees also save $2.
