About Italian American Museum of Los Angeles

The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles explores the Italian American experience within the nation's multicultural history. Visitors view an award-winning permanent exhibition and rotating temporary exhibitions, including displays examining Italian food's evolution in the United States. The 6,000 square-foot museum houses these collections in the Italian Hall, a 1908 community center structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places and among the oldest remaining buildings from downtown Los Angeles's historic Little Italy. Beyond exhibitions, the museum offers cultural-educational programming and curricula designed for educators. Visitors can request docent-led tours, access genealogical research services, and view the permanent exhibition online. The museum suits families, students, and anyone researching Italian American heritage or history. A visit involves walking through galleries at the downtown Los Angeles location, Tuesday through Sunday.
