About Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles is the world's largest museum devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking. Visitors explore rotating exhibitions such as Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon, which displays hundreds of rare and original objects, alongside immersive experiences like Glow: A Cinematic Moodscape. The museum operates state-of-the-art theaters showing classic and contemporary films, and the Shirley Temple Education Studio offers guided close-up tours of current exhibitions. Fanny's Restaurant and Café serves meals throughout the day. The Saban Building houses multiple event spaces, including the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby and the Walt Disney Company Piazza. General admission is charged; children seventeen and under receive free entry. Discounted admission is available after 4:30pm. TAP card holders and museum members receive reductions on admission.
