Pasadena Museum of History occupies a two-acre campus featuring the 1906 Fényes Mansion, exhibition galleries, a research library, and a museum store. Visitors tour the Beaux Arts-style mansion with its original furnishings, Victorian décor, and California plein air art collection across rooms largely unchanged for over a century. Current exhibitions include "Pasadena Palette," showcasing artists who lived and worked in the city, and "Frozen Frames: Preserving Pasadena's Visual Legacy," an online exhibition series featuring photographs from the museum's collection of over 200,000 negatives. The Research Library and Archives holds the region's largest collection of documents and artifacts related to Pasadena and the west San Gabriel Valley, open to the public for personal and professional research. Exhibition galleries charge admission, with free entry on the first Wednesday of each month for Pasadena residents and workers in neighboring communities, and free admission for active-duty military.
