About San Marino Historical Society

The San Marino Historical Society preserves and shares the local area's history through its archives and public programs. The Thurnher House at Lacy Park serves as the organization's offices and houses historic displays, documents, tapes, books, photographs, oral histories and microfilms. Visitors can browse these collections during open hours on the first and third Sundays of each month. The society publishes a quarterly newsletter called The Grapevine and offers three or four free lectures and programs annually to the public. Members also present historical docent tours and lectures throughout San Marino upon request. While research focuses on San Marino's heritage, the society also covers subjects across Southern California and the state. The organization actively collects, catalogs and preserves objects and information donated by community members. Located in San Marino, California, the historical society welcomes those interested in learning about the region's past through its collections and educational offerings.
