The Garden of Flowing Fragrance, or Liu Fang Yuan, is a 15-acre classical Chinese garden at the Huntington in San Marino inspired by the gardens of Suzhou. Visitors explore the landscape by walking pathways and pavilions that reveal new views like scenes from a painted scroll. The Lake of Reflected Fragrance sits in a natural basin, while the Court of Assembled Worthies is raised to protect native California live oaks. The Love for the Lotus Pavilion displays woodcarvings depicting eight specific Suzhou gardens. Plants throughout the garden carry literary and cultural significance: peach blossoms represent spring, chrysanthemums stand for autumn, lotus symbolizes purity, and orchids represent humility. The Pavilion of the Three Friends features ceiling carvings of bamboo, pine, and plum blossoms. Architecture, waterworks, rockeries, and calligraphy enrich the landscape, offering both physical relaxation and mental stimulation for visitors exploring this refined garden in San Marino.
We check this attraction’s own website for offers. The last time we read huntington.org there was no offer on it that we could verify.
The page stays here because the attraction is still worth knowing about, and because we keep checking. If a deal appears on their site, it appears here.
