About Mineola Historical Society
The Mineola Historical Society preserves and presents the village's history through exhibits featuring over 5,000 photographs and hundreds of historical objects dating back to the mid-1800s. Visitors explore collections representing Mineola's earliest businesses, clubs, and organizations, along with local pictures, books, articles, and memorabilia. Founded in 1988, the society serves as a repository for these materials. The museum operates with flexible scheduling that accommodates advance arrangements for group tours of approximately fifteen people. Educational programs are available for Mineola Schools and organizations such as Scout troops, which can be delivered at local venues. General admission is free. Guided experiences allow visitors to engage directly with the collections and learn about the village's development and cultural heritage through the society's curatorial expertise and archival resources.
