About Hathaway Ranch Museum

Hathaway Ranch Museum preserves five generations of family and community history in Santa Fe Springs, presenting artifacts and exhibits that document early twentieth century farming, ranching, and oil development in the region once known as Fulton Wells. Visitors tour the five-acre site to see historic books, maps, photographs, and collections representing the Hathaway family's extensive connection to the area. The museum, incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1986, grew from the Rancho Santa Gertrudes Historical Society founded in 1983. Nadine Hathaway was instrumental in establishing and operating both organizations, while her husband Richard contributed his historical knowledge and artifact collections. The museum grounds provide a unique setting and are available for outdoor gatherings and social events. A tour of the property reveals approximately one hundred and forty years of local history and family memories accumulated across the expansive grounds in Santa Fe Springs, California.
