Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens occupies a 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival building on 2.5 acres in San Clemente, California. Visitors explore more than 30 signature gardens including a Courtyard Garden, Butterfly Garden designated as a Monarch Butterfly Way Station, Cactus and Succulent Gardens, Native American Gardens featuring plants used by the Acjachmen Indians, Children's Garden, Herb Garden, Story Circle, Bluff Top Gardens with a yucca planted in 1927, Native Bowl with Serenity Point views, and Woodland Garden. The property includes a sculpture titled The Beauty of the Butterfly by artist Matthew Placzek. Guests tour the Ole Hanson home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and attend arts programs in the Main Salon, Courtyard, or Art Gallery. The Gift Shop offers items from local artists, Casa Romantica merchandise, books about gardening and local history, coastal-themed goods, and plants including Casa Cuttings succulents propagated from the gardens and milkweed for monarch butterflies.
