About Leo P. Ostebo Kings Park Heritage Museum

Leo P. Ostebo Kings Park Heritage Museum preserves Kings Park's history through exhibits in the Ralph J. Osgood Intermediate School building, including the Borden Room, Cusick History Smith Room, Flynn Family Room, Lule Medical Room, and Vassallo Aerospace & Nature Showcase. Visitors explore a Kings Park History Timeline, take the Hessel History Test trivia challenge, and play the Where Am I In Kings Park interactive game. The museum features the Leo Polaski Room, P.C. Richards Media Room, and Wijer Heritage Corner & Academy Memorial, along with rotating Nationality of the Month displays. Educational programs include Fourth Grade Local History Education classes and Adult Education sessions, alongside Heritage Night Events celebrating different cultural communities. The museum developed from over twenty-five years of volunteer efforts following the closing of one of the country's largest occupational therapy mental hospitals. Located in Kings Park, New York, general admission is free.
