About Dallidet Adobe & Gardens

Dallidet Adobe & Gardens is a California State Historical Landmark located in San Luis Obispo, notable as one of the Central Coast's most distinctive adobe structures. Built in the 1850s by Pierre Hypolite Dallidet and his wife Ascencion Concepcion Salazar, the adobe remained in the family for over a century before being donated to the History Center of San Luis Obispo County in 1953. Visitors explore the historic property and wander rustic paths and brick walkways through more than an acre of lush gardens displaying ever-changing seasonal plantings. The gardens open seasonally on weekends, weather permitting. The site also hosts weddings, receptions, and special events, and features a memorial tile program allowing visitors to place personalized six-inch tiles on garden walls as lasting commemorations of significant milestones.
