Visit danaadobe.org →Dana Adobe at Rancho Nipomo offers guided tours of a family residence built in 1839 on a Mexican Land Grant originally spanning more than 48,000 acres. Docent-led tours explore the adobe itself while visitors learn about early California history and the Chumash lands that preceded it. The historic park encompasses a Mission Grape vineyard, an original Tallow Vat, small gardens including a Pollinator Garden, Chumash Garden, and Kitchen Garden, plus a museum and Cultural Center with permanent exhibits. Miles of hiking trails cross the 130-acre property, including the Heritage Trail, Bird Trail, Railroad Trail, and 100-Acre Trails. Visitors discover the Historic Orchard, Horno, Captain's Sycamore, and historic roads and stagecoach routes. Wildlife roams the grounds alongside these attractions. Self-guided tours of the grounds are available, as are educational programs including school field trips, summer camp, and the Sunday Speaker Series. Dana Adobe is located in Nipomo, California.
