The Wagner Free Institute of Science is a natural history museum in Philadelphia where visitors explore over 100,000 natural specimens on the second floor exhibit hall. The collection includes ancient fossils, glowing minerals, taxidermy animals, mounted skeletons, and rocks from around the globe. Guests wander at their own pace through Victorian-era displays or follow themed scavenger hunts, picking up pencils and paper to sketch from the collection. The Institute hosts contemporary science programs including printmaking workshops, film screenings, and lantern slide presentations. Founded in 1855 and designated a National Historic Landmark, the museum represents one of the oldest programs devoted to free adult education in the United States.
