About Betsy Ross House

Betsy Ross House features audio tours that explore her life beyond the flag legend, including her elopement, widowhood, and struggle as a single working mother, alongside current historic research about her Revolutionary War role. Visitors choose between self-guided tours or enhanced audio experiences, with a separate children's audio tour that teaches 18th-century life through 13 history mysteries. Historic interpreters stationed throughout the house, including in the upholstery shop, bring artifacts and documents to life. The courtyard provides a shaded rest area during tours. The house charges admission, with children ages 5 and under free with paid adult admission. Located in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood within the Historic District, steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross House opens daily with extended Friday and Saturday hours in summer.
