About Fort Mifflin

Fort Mifflin is a National Historic Landmark where visitors tour restored military buildings and explore the fort's role across five centuries of American warfare. The site features the Officers Quarters, Hospital Building, and Casemate 11, the original Powder Magazine, all preserved to reflect the period from 1777 to 1875. Guided tours run daily on weekends at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with cannon demonstrations at 1 p.m. on weekends. The fort hosts living history events and paranormal investigations, including candlelight ghost tours and overnight paranormal explorations. A riverfront picnic area overlooks the water, and leashed pets are welcome on the grounds. The site interprets the fort's service during the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, World War I, and World War II. Fort Mifflin charges admission and operates seasonally in Philadelphia.
