About The Rosenbach

The Rosenbach Museum & Library in Philadelphia houses nearly 400,000 rare books, manuscripts, and decorative arts objects. Visitors explore a 19th-century townhouse containing holdings from James Joyce, Bram Stoker, Lewis Carroll, and other literary figures through guided or self-guided tours. Admission includes access to three permanent collection galleries: Treasures from the Rosenbach's Collection focusing on Literature of Great Britain & Ireland, History of the Material Text, and History & Literature of the Americas. The museum offers guided tours Thursday through Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with tickets sold online. Visitors may make research appointments to study rare materials in the library, attend reading courses and literary programs, or browse the gift shop during public hours. The collections span centuries of literary and artistic achievement, drawing scholars, writers, and those interested in manuscript history and book arts.
