About The Rosenbach

The Rosenbach Museum & Library in Philadelphia engages visitors with rare books and manuscripts through guided and self-guided tours of a 19th-century townhouse. Visitors explore nearly 400,000 rare books, manuscripts, and decorative arts objects including works by James Joyce, Bram Stoker, Lewis Carroll, Phillis Wheatley, Joseph Conrad, and Charles Dickens. The Treasures Gallery features three permanent exhibition spaces: Literature of Great Britain & Ireland, History of the Material Text, and History & Literature of the Americas. Programming includes Reading Courses and literary cocktail parties. Guided tours are offered Thursday through Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with admission included in tour tickets. Self-guided tours run Thursday through Saturday until 6 p.m. and Sunday until 4:30 p.m. A Gift Shop operates during public hours. Research appointments are available for deeper engagement with the collection.
