About The African American Firefighter Museum
The African American Firefighter Museum in Los Angeles collects, conserves, and shares the heritage of African American firefighters through guided tours and exhibitions. Visitors take a 40-minute guided tour filled with stories and details about the African American firefighters' legacy in Los Angeles, then explore the grounds of historic Fire Station No. 30, which operated as a segregated firehouse from 1924 to 1955. The museum offers school and community programs designed for families and future firefighters. Active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve members, receive free admission through Blue Star Museums.
