About Harmony Museum

Harmony Museum offers guided tours through the history of this town founded in 1804. Visitors explore exhibits covering the Lenape Indian settlement, the Harmonist community from Germany led by "Father" George Rapp, and Mennonites. Tours depart at scheduled times and include the main museum building with its unique wine cellar. The museum preserves nine historic properties throughout the area, including a cemetery and the Weaver's Cabin, where visitors can watch artisans create handwoven items on traditional looms and purchase their work. A separate museum shop offers gifts and local items. Walking tours guide visitors past historic buildings with interpretive signs explaining the town's past. A genealogy library is available by appointment for those researching family ancestry. The museum is located at the intersection of Mercer and Main Streets in Harmony.
