About Depreciation Lands Museum

Depreciation Lands Museum in Allison Park is a volunteer-staffed living history village recreating late-18th-century colonial life in the Depreciation Lands region. Visitors explore an original Pine Creek Covenanter church building with its associated cemetery, an 1800s log house, and reproduction buildings staffed by costumed interpreters who demonstrate period skills and daily life. The museum maintains a research library with significant collections of 18th-century history books, genealogical data, local photos and maps. Costumed volunteers teach classes and maintain an herb garden on the grounds. Historic buildings open on Sundays during summer; the cemetery and shaded grounds with picnic tables remain accessible daily. The museum presents the lifestyle, hopes and interactions of early European settlers with local native peoples through living history programs and outreach. Admission tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
