Carnegie Museum of Natural History shares its historic Pittsburgh building with Carnegie Museum of Art, and a single ticket grants access to both museums' galleries. Visitors explore natural history collections, dinosaur skeletons, and mineral exhibits while the museum hosts science seminars and themed events like Haunted Museum for adults. The museum operates Powdermill Nature Reserve, located 55 miles southeast in Rector, Pennsylvania, where the public can join guided nature walk programs and explore woodland trails. Admission is discounted to twelve dollars on weekdays after three o'clock. AAA members receive one dollar off admission for up to six people, active US military personnel and veterans receive fifty percent off, and students from University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon, Point Park, Chatham, and Carlow universities receive free admission with valid ID.
