The Big Mac Museum Restaurant in Irwin celebrates the history of McDonald's signature burger through exhibits displayed in walnut cases throughout a working McDonald's location. Visitors view a Big Mac toaster used from 1970 to 1997, a Big Mac Sauce Gun resembling a grease gun, and corporate awards documenting partnerships like Coca-Cola and the Big Mac. An Ascent of Packaging display traces the burger's wrapper evolution from styrofoam containers through recycled boxes back to paper. The dining room features the Ingredient Mantra as wallpaper, repeating the famous "2 all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese" jingle. A life-size bronze bust of Michael Delligatti, the franchisee who introduced the Big Mac in 1967, holds a burger at a center table. The museum also displays bobble-heads of the Delligatti management team and commemorates Pittsburgh mayor Sophie Masloff's 1992 declaration of "Big Mac USA." A 14-foot-tall Big Mac statue stands spotlit on a silver pedestal in the back corner near the Playplace, serving as the museum's centerpiece attraction.
