About Train of Lights Niles Canyon Railway

Train of Lights Niles Canyon Railway is a nighttime train excursion operated by an all-volunteer railroad museum in Fremont. Visitors board antique coaches and open cars decorated with holiday lights for a 1.5-hour round trip through Niles Canyon. The train features refreshments, music, and festive cheer throughout the journey. Passengers can select between an early departure from Niles, which departs at dusk to showcase canyon scenery before darkness falls, or a later departure from Sunol after dark to maximize viewing of the train's illuminated decorations. The antique coaches and open cars display holiday lights and decorations both inside and outside.
