Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont preserves life on a family farm between 1890 and 1930 on the former estate of George and Clara Patterson, whose family farmed the land for over 100 years beginning in the 1850s. The East Bay Regional Parks District operates this working historic property where visitors explore the grounds on foot via walking trails. The farm includes a historic house, barns, orchards, and gardens that demonstrate early California agricultural practices and rural domestic life. Guests can view equipment and structures from the era while walking through the property. Picnicking areas provide places to rest during your visit. The site offers a tangible connection to how farming families lived and worked during this formative period in the region's history.
Hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 10am - 4pm
