About Children's Fairyland

Children's Fairyland is a 10-acre storybook park on the shores of Lake Merritt designed for families with children ages 0-8. Visitors explore magical playsets, meet friendly animals, and watch puppet shows in a safe outdoor setting. The park features several rides including the Jolly Trolly train, the Wonder-Go-Round carousel with Alice in Wonderland characters, Anansi's Magic Web mini Ferris wheel, and the Flecto Carousel. Throughout the park, more than 20 Talking Storybook Boxes play beloved tales in English or Spanish when visitors insert a Magic Key. The park hosts live performances and hands-on activities, along with seasonal events celebrating literature, culture, and nature. Children's Fairyland has operated since 1950 and remains a destination for imaginative play and learning. The park is located in Oakland, California, at Lake Merritt inside Lakeside Park.
