About Great Western Power Company
Great Western Power Company is a climbing gym and fitness facility located in Uptown Oakland, housed in a former steam-generating plant. Visitors climb on a 48-foot lead wall, tackle over 70 routes across 11,000 square feet of climbing terrain, and boulder on 1,500 square feet of bouldering walls. The gym includes a comprehensive fitness area with cardio and strength training equipment, and offers a calendar of yoga and fitness classes throughout the week. The facility features a pro shop for climbing gear and apparel, along with a sauna for post-workout recovery. The space combines historic industrial architecture with modern climbing wall design, creating a distinctive environment for climbers of all levels in Oakland, California.
