About Shemer Art Center
Shemer Art Center preserves a Santa Fe mission-style home built in 1919 as Arcadia's first residence, now transformed into a cultural hub in Phoenix. Set at the base of Camelback Mountain, the center hosts rotating exhibitions showcasing Arizona artists alongside art lectures that explore regional work and history. Visitors can enroll in adult classes and youth classes covering various visual art disciplines, or attend workshops designed for different skill levels. The facility also hosts community events throughout its schedule. General admission is free. The venue is wheelchair accessible, allowing all guests to participate in classes, workshops, lectures, exhibitions and events. Operated by the City of Phoenix and supported by a nonprofit association, Shemer Art Center stands on East Camelback Road in the Arcadia neighborhood, offering panoramic mountain views and free on-site parking accessible from Arcadia Drive.
