About Heard Museum

The Heard Museum in Phoenix showcases American Indian art spanning traditional and contemporary works. Visitors explore multiple galleries and rotating exhibitions featuring pottery, baskets, jewelry, textiles, beadwork, paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and Hopi katsina dolls. Current exhibitions include HOME: Native People in the Southwest, which highlights ancestral and present-day Indigenous peoples of the Greater Southwest, and Away From Home: American Indian Boarding School Stories, which traces the history of U.S. government boarding schools. The museum also features the American Indian Veterans National Memorial and sculpture exhibitions including The Third Dimension and Majestic Figures. School groups in grades K-12 can arrange free guided tours led by docents or self-directed visits, with the option to bring lunch and complete activities on campus. A museum shop and courtyard café are located on site. The museum is open Monday through Sunday with hours published on its website.
