About HD South - Home of the Gilbert Museum

HD South - Home of the Gilbert Museum is Gilbert's arts, culture and history center, located at the southern end of the Heritage District. Visitors explore the Gilbert Historical Museum, which holds a comprehensive collection on Gilbert's past and serves as the only museum in the town. The venue occupies Gilbert Elementary School, the oldest building still standing in Gilbert, originally opened in 1913 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. HD South offers community programs focused on art, health and wellness, history, literature, music and science for all ages, including karate classes, STEM Saturday sessions, and sound meditation for grief. The venue hosts special events throughout the year and provides event space available for rental.
