About WHAM Community Art Center
WHAM Community Art Center in Surprise serves as a West Valley arts hub where visitors explore rotating gallery exhibits, take classes in various media, and participate in community events. The 8,500-square-foot facility houses 17 artist studios, three classrooms, and a professional gallery displaying local artists monthly at no charge. Classes cater to all ages and abilities across multiple artistic mediums, with specialized programming for veterans, teens, and people with adaptive needs. The center also runs memory care and mindful art sessions. Beyond the main location, WHAM operates a traveling studio bringing art into West Valley parks and festivals. The gift shop and arts and crafts store offer additional browsing. The organization hosts public art murals, art walks, and community projects throughout the region, alongside its annual Bowls of Hope event featuring handmade clay bowls sold to support local charities.
