About PW Litchfield Heritage Center

The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center preserves the history of the Southwest Valley, including Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Avondale, Tolleson and surrounding communities. Visitors explore galleries housed in the historic Litchfield/Denny home, a former vacation residence of Paul and Florence Litchfield. Current exhibits include "Lighter Than Air: Balloons, Blimps, and Dirigibles," which traces balloon history from the 1700s through their military use and chronicles the role of Goodyear Aircraft-Arizona in developing airships. Additional exhibits showcase artifacts and photographs from the Southwest Cotton Company and Goodyear Farms, the story of Litchfield Park as a company town from 1917 to 1959, and medical equipment from the area's early physicians. The museum is open Wednesday through Friday and Saturday mornings, with group tours available by appointment. General admission is free. The center is located at the northwest corner of Litchfield and Camelback Roads in Litchfield Park.
