The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, is an internationally recognized institution dedicated to contemporary art, architecture, and design. Visitors explore five galleries housed in a minimalist building designed by architect Will Bruder, a renovation of a former movie theater. The museum showcases changing exhibitions alongside works from its growing permanent collection featuring local, national, and international artists working across two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums. Current exhibitions include Desert Perspectives, featuring multigenerational Southwest artists; Desert ArtLAB's site-specific installation What the Earth Keeps, exploring land and ecology through performance and cyanotype-mapping; and Model Home, an installation examining desert landscape changes from development and population growth.
