Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale is North America's largest butterfly conservatory, home to thousands of butterflies from around the world. Visitors walk through immersive exhibits featuring more than 60 species of butterflies, live chrysalis displays, rainforest reptiles, and a 3D movie about Monarch migration. The conservatory includes a Butterfly Emergence Gallery where guests watch butterflies transform and take flight. Additional exhibits trace water's journey from rain through rivers to ocean, with interactive displays of penguins and reef life. Daily activities include koi feedings in the Conservatory with expert commentary about species like "Hoover," and weekend stingray and shark feedings at the Tropical Waters Observation Pool featuring live aquarist talks. Tuesday visitors can watch Education Specialists release tropical butterflies during the Whimsical Wings event. The Butterfly Brushstrokes painting class offers a guided creative experience. The facility operates daily with last entry one hour before closing. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
