About San Francisco Zoo & Gardens
San Francisco Zoo & Gardens houses nearly 1,500 animals across 100 acres of zoological gardens near Ocean Beach, where visitors explore 260 different animal species and feed giraffes during their visit. The zoo opens daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last general admission at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online through sfzoo.org or at the main gate, and the venue publishes six paid admission price levels based on age and residency status. Students ages 12 through college receive San Francisco resident rates, while San Francisco residents with EBT/SNAP or Medi-Cal cards can buy up to four tickets for $3 each; non-residents with EBT/SNAP cards pay $5 each. Visitors arriving by Muni receive a $1 discount with proof of same-day transit use. Current members of reciprocal institutions receive 50% off general admission. The zoo is located at Sloat Boulevard and the Great Highway in San Francisco, California, with onsite parking available for a fee and free parking for disabled guests with valid placards.
