Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in Rush, New York operates restored vintage trains that carry visitors through museum grounds on seasonal rides. Aboard the trains, passengers ride in either a restored vintage caboose with bench seating and windows or an open-air car built on a 1944 Army flatcar, offering unobstructed views. During visits, guests step inside an ice-cooled refrigerator car, take control of railroad signals, explore the train crew's quarters in the caboose, and tour the restoration shop. The museum houses the largest collection of historic trains in New York State and features exhibits including Lionel trains and a petting zoo. Seasonal events include train rides to a pumpkin patch where children receive free pumpkins, and themed rides celebrating local culture. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website, with separate pricing for adults, youth, seniors, and younger children. The museum sits 20 minutes south of downtown Rochester.
