RocVentures Climbing is an indoor rock climbing gym in Rochester where visitors climb on various wall types using different techniques and equipment. The gym offers bouldering across five zones, where climbers navigate short routes without ropes or harnesses after a safety orientation. Seven auto belays—automated devices that raise and lower climbers—provide another option for ascending and descending the walls. More than forty top-rope setups allow climbers to tackle longer, varied routes with a belayer controlling the descent. Bouldering requires climbers to be at least eight years old, while auto belays and top ropes have their own age requirements. Classes and coaching are available, including introductory rope sessions for those new to the sport. The gym hosts programs for kids, group events, parties, and guided climbing sessions on weekends and major holidays.
