About Susan B. Anthony Museum & House

The National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House preserves the Rochester home where the civil rights leader lived from 1866 until her death in 1906. Visitors tour the red brick house where Anthony was arrested for voting in 1872 in the front parlor. The house served as headquarters for the National American Woman Suffrage Association during her presidency. Guided tours take visitors through multiple rooms including the front parlor where the arrest occurred, the back parlor where Anthony strategized with reformers like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Ida B. Wells Barnett, the dining room, guest room, Mary Anthony's bedroom, Anthony's second-floor study, and her bedroom where she died. On the third floor, Anthony helped write and edit the History of Woman Suffrage. The adjacent Visitor Center houses a museum shop and exhibit space. The museum offers group tours, school programs, and virtual programs throughout the year.
