About 1890 House Museum

The 1890 House Museum is a historic house in downtown Cortland where visitors step back into 19th-century life through self-guided or guided tours. House guides walk visitors through four floors, including the parlor, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, and cupola, covering the Wickwire family history, servant life, and social customs of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Tours last between 60 and 90 minutes and explore the second and third floors as well as the cupola. The museum's collections tell the stories of the wealthy Wickwire family, their servants, and the factory workers who sustained their lifestyle. The museum operates Thursday through Saturday mornings and afternoons, and Sunday afternoons. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
