About Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania preserves and interprets the history of railroads throughout Pennsylvania. Visitors explore more than 100 locomotives and railroad cars from the mid-19th and 20th centuries, including the Pennsylvania Railroad Historical Collection. Many of these have been restored to their original appearance in the Museum's restoration shop. The indoor exhibits feature a recreated Golden Age of Railroading Street Scene with period buildings, Steinman Station—an early 20th-century passenger depot—and Stewart Junction, an interactive railway education center. Extensive displays of railroad artifacts, photographs, books, and corporate railroad material complement the trains on view. The Museum conducts educational programs for all ages, offers tours, and holds special events throughout the year. Located in Strasburg, Lancaster County, the Museum opens Wednesday through Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with last entry at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
