Children of Gettysburg 1863® is an interactive children's history museum in the historic Rupp House where families touch, listen and learn about the lives of children who lived in Gettysburg during the 1863 battle. Visitors move through galleries including "Growing Up in Gettysburg 1863," "The Soldiers are Coming," "Surviving the Battle" and "Remembering Gettysburg," encountering first-hand accounts from young witnesses like William Bayly, Albertus McCreary, Sadie Bushman and Tillie Pierce. A story scavenger hunt guides children to find objects throughout the museum while completing hands-on activities tied to the Gettysburg Address, the National Cemetery and historic preservation. On select dates and summer weekends, living historians engage visitors on the grounds. Children ages 0-5 enter free with a ticketed adult. Children ages 6-12 receive admission at five dollars. AAA members pay eight dollars ninety-five cents. Families receiving SNAP benefits qualify for free admission through Museums for All. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
